This week before the Christmas holidays, we thought it would be good to make an inspiring gift for our families. We have learned about calligraphy from two videos (you can watch below). The first one is about Chinese calligraphy and we also talked about the book Liu and the bird: a journey in Chinese calligraphy by Catherine Louis.

We also watched a clever video that shows calligraphy in English and then made our own bookmarks with inspiring quotes on them, to give as gifts for our families and friends. We also have several English calligraphy books if you would like to borrow these during the holidays.

Elmer teaches us to live in peace


With Christmas coming up soon, it seemed important to remind us that we need to try to live peaceably. EC and KG library classes this week read the very colorful book Elmer and the hippos by David McKee.
